Think Tank: Trafalgar Analytics launches 2026 Editorial Contributorship Review to uphold research integrity and authorship standards

LONDON, 19th April 2026 — Trafalgar Analytics has today announced its annual Editorial Contributorship Review (ECR), a formal process to assess the accuracy and authorship of all papers published by the think tank between 1 June 2025 and 31 May 2026. The Review, which will take place in June 2026, follows academic best practice and is conducted in line with UK Research Integrity Office (UKRIO) guidelines.

Review process

The Review will assess each publication in three stages: firstly, for factual accuracy, secondly, for authorship, and thirdly, a decision on action or outcome. The process will follow established academic frameworks, including the CRAAP test (Blakeslee, 2004) and authorship guidance from the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO, 2026) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). The Review itself is conducted in the spirit of ethical publishing standards set out by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the UK Research Integrity Office (UKRIO). A dedicated Review Panel will weigh these scores alongside any evidence submitted by the public and authors during the process, ensuring every contribution is fairly and transparently recognised.

Call for evidence

Trafalgar Analytics is inviting readers, subscribers, and authors to submit constructive evidence or observations relevant to any paper under review. Submissions can be sent to the Panel via email at ECR.2026@trafalgaranalytics.co.uk before the 31 May 2026 deadline.
